Jurandyr Ubirajara Campos

Jurandyr Ubirajara Campos (São Paulo SP 1912 – idem 1972). Designer, illustrator, painter. He began his activities as a commercial designer. In 1928, he moved to New York, where he works as a draftsman and propagandist of The New York Times. Back in Brazil, he works in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo in the rotogravure session and is an illustrator of the children's books of Monteiro Lobato (1882-1948), his father-in- law. From the 1940s onwards, he began to devote himself to the paintings, taking classes with Cesaro Bernaldo
de Quirós (1947) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1950, he became president of the Paulista Salon of Fine Arts.

The frame was cracked in some areas and the stretcher bars were made of inadequate wood and of inadequate size and was replaced by noble wood cedar. Stretcher bars replacement for a new (in Cedar) with crosses braces that allow the movement of the work, thus preventing the screen from deforming again.
